When I started the Substack — officially late 2020, but I started writing, what, early 2021? — I already knew about Substack platforming transphobes then (I believe it was something about them funding? At the time? But I can’t find it now, and maybe I have it wrong) and decided I simply would have my posts for free. I liked having a place where I could potentially “go viral” or be one of The Girls, you know, your Rayne Fisher-Quanns of the world. As you reading this and I writing this both know, that hasn’t happened.
